Indigenous Peoples stand for rights, justice, and genuine development!

September 6, 2025

Katribu Indigenous Peoples’ Alliance congratulates the successful launch of the MANINDIGAN Campaign Network today, September 6, 2025. The launching of MANINDIGAN marks a new phase in the people’s struggle for rights, democracy, and sovereignty. It is a testament to the courage of all who resist militarization, plunder, and repression, reminding us that unity is our greatest strength in confronting tyranny.

Indigenous Peoples’ leaders and advocates are among the conveners of this campaign not only because we are the first and worst victims of human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian law (IHL), but also because we uphold a vision of genuine people’s development. This development is rooted in agrarian reform, national industrialization, and the respect for Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), where Indigenous communities gain real benefits and the environment is protected and rehabilitated.

We reject so-called “development” imposed at gunpoint and at the expense of our ancestral lands and survival, such as the century-old mining plunder in Benguet, the destructive Jalaur Dam in Panay, and the Kaliwa-Kanan-Laiban Dam projects.

We are proud that Beverly Longid, Katribu National Convener, is among the conveners of the MANINDIGAN Campaign Network, affirming the commitment of Indigenous Peoples to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other sectors in this urgent struggle.

We call on Indigenous Peoples, farmers, workers, youth, women, church people, and all freedom-loving Filipinos to widen and strengthen support for this anti-fascist campaign. We hold the Marcos Jr. regime accountable for the killings, displacement, and plunder of our communities.

Let us link arms in defending our rights, demanding justice, and advancing our vision of a just and truly democratic Philippines.

Manindigan tayo para sa karapatan ng mamamayan!
