We are witnessing simultaneous militant protest actions from the youth, students, workers, farmers, women, Indigenous Peoples, and other sectors across Asia. In Indonesia, mass protests erupted following reports that exposed the glaring economic gap between ordinary workers and government officials. Indonesian politicians receive housing allowances on top of their already bloated salaries, a perk amounting to 10 to 20 times the monthly minimum wage. The anger of the Indonesian people was further fueled when police killed a delivery driver during these demonstrations.

In Nepal, the youth have risen against internet restrictions, rampant government corruption, and the regimeโ€™s refusal to be held accountable. Their peaceful protests were met with brutal fascism: police fatally shot 17 people in Kathmandu, deployed tear gas against demonstrators, and unleashed widespread police violence.

In the Philippines, we too face deepening political unrest as the entrenched corruption of government officials continues to surface in the media. The Filipino people are raging against the government officialsโ€™ plunder of budgets allotted for the people. High-ranking government officials are in cahoots with the government agencies to pocket peopleโ€™s money. Marcos Jr. feigns shock at this blatant corruption, despite the fact that his entire political dynasty is built on the plunder and ill-gotten wealth amassed during his fatherโ€™s dictatorship. His family has long normalized robbery of the nation.

Katribu Kalipunan joins these mass protests that demand accountability and justice from governments. As Indigenous Peoples suffer worsening poverty and the destruction of ancestral lands, it is simply unacceptable for those in power to enrich themselves while the people starve. We join the call to end corruption and affirm the necessity of militant protest as a legitimate weapon of the oppressed.

We call on all peace-loving Filipinos to stand with the peoples of Indonesia and Nepal. We particularly call on the youth of Asia: make your voices heard even in the face of fascist attacks. Across borders, our struggles are bound together by the same systems of oppression and corruption. Only through solidarity and militant collective action can we dismantle these rotten regimes and build a future where justice, accountability, and peopleโ€™s rights are upheld.

Long live the struggles of the Indonesian and Nepalese peoples!

Long live international solidarity!
